Faith - Farewell to Mowbray

Learning - Pi Day Celebrations
Learning On Monday 16th March, St Benet Biscop celebrated Pi Day with a variety of fun and challenging activities. Students were put to the test as they competed to recall as many digits of the mathematical constant π as possible. Quest: Success at Crufts for Dakota and Logan
Quest Our very own Dakota (Year 10) took her dog Logan to complete at Crufts dog show recently. Logan is a Papillon and he was entered into the Best Veteran breed category and competed against eleven other male dogs. After walking around the arena and being checked by the judges he was chosen as the winner. We are incredibly proud of this achievement.

Quest - Partnership with Little Angels Nursery
Quest A group of our Social Sciences sixth form students were given the opportunity to visit Little Angels nursery and gain hands on experience of working in early years childcare. Learning - Year 10 Revision Skills Workshop
Learning As part of ongoing work to develop skills of independent learning and revision, Year 10 took part in a two-hour revision skills workshop last week. This took place in the hall and was led by Teachers and Year 12 student ambassadors. Get into Semi-conductors day at Newcastle University
Quest Thirteen students from Years 10 and 13 visited Newcastle University’s School of Engineering for the Get Into Semiconductors event. They attended lectures from university staff, with our Year 10s even taking a leading role. Students also joined a hands‑on workshop, applying coding techniques linked to electronic devices. Year 10 STEM visit to Baker Hughes Pipeline Services
Quest Fifteen Year 10 students enjoyed their second afternoon at Baker Hughes this week as part of their four‑week industry experience. They heard from specialist engineers about their roles and how pipeline inspection tools are developed. Celebrating Year 10 Successes
Quest Recently, Year 10 student Harrison Huntley (10S) travelled to Wales to participate in a National Cycling competition (an omnium and Sprint Trials). Y8 Rugby Success
Quest On Thursday 19th March the Year 8 boys' rugby team travelled to Percy Park for the annual County 7s tournament. U13 Girl's English School's FA Cup Campaign
Quest On Tuesday 17th March, the U13 girls team travelled to Huddersfield to play round 5 of the National Cup. At half time, the score was 2-1 and everything was still to play for, with both teams demonstrating some excellent football. Crunching Numbers: Year 11 Put Their Maths Skills to the Test
Learning All students in 11X1 maths took part in the UK Maths Trust Intermediate Maths Challenge in February, this is a test of logic and mathematical problem solving with students gaining marks for correct answers but losing marks for incorrect answers.
