U15 County Cup football team progress
RISE Up and Shine Well done to the y10 boys who progressed to the next round of the u15 Blake Cup. The game was very tight and finished 2-2. John Spence scored first, then Niall D scored for SBB. John Spence took the lead again with 5 minutes to play. SBB did not give up and showed great determination and resilience, this was rewarded with a goal from Logan R with the last kick of the game. Out of this World
Learning As the monster makers club draws to a close the students are close to completing their monster, masks and prop projects. The students involved have learned a range of traditional and digital techniques and used them to create a varied range of props from popular computer games and TV along with their own creature design sculptures. Year 12 Book Club - our numbers are growing but this month's book was unanimously a miss!
Learning None of the group managed to finish 'The Turn of the Screw' by Henry James. It didn't stop us meeting though! We're feeling positive about next month's choice: John Steinbeck's 'Of Mice and Men'. U18 Football Success
RISE Up and Shine St Benet Biscop first team footballers continued their unbeaten run this season with a third win in a row. Tonight we travelled to NCEA to play in the Peter Tracey cup. The boys were excellent again and the match finished 4-1 to SBB. Goals from skipper Dan Mc, Harra, Harry R and Cam L. Man of the match was Evan Beattie, well done Evan! Gym Visit for Year 12 Sport Students
Learning Year 12 Sport students completed a series of activities at the gym. They explored the movements and agonist muscles required by the fixed weight machines to support them in their knowledge for Anatomy and Physiology. Quest 7BH/Ge are in the midst of their Enquiry world. In this unit pupils are introduced to the Geographical enquiry cycle and they conduct an investigation into building quality and the effect it may have on their mood. RISE Up and Shine The year 12 Drama students completed their performance trial exam on Monday evening in front of a large audience in the main Drama studio. Their piece was devised and created by themselves and was based on the themes and issues from the play Saved by Edward Bond. Faith Our buildings are named after northern saints. Form classes have been asked to learn more about their buildings' saints and create a banner or shield to represent them. 11B are based in St Hilda's block (where English is taught) and have been working hard in form to represent her. RISE Up and Shine This week the girls played a further 2 fixtures in their league campaign. They started the evening against a strong Ashington High team, who quickly scored, putting them in a 1-0 lead.
