RISE Up and Shine
Twenty-six of our Year 9 and Year 12 students have completed training to guide their peers through the Anne Frank Exhibition, visiting the school for the next two weeks. On loan from the Anne Frank House Museum in Amsterdam, the exhibition explores Anne Frank’s life and the persecution of Jewish people during World War II.
Selected from a large group of volunteers, students may apply to become ambassadors for the Anne Frank Foundation. As part of their preparation, they took part in a workshop led by the Anne Frank organisation focusing on tolerance and the importance of challenging prejudice and discrimination.
The workshop supports the school’s RISE theme of Integrity and the Year 9 History unit “How should we remember the Holocaust?”. Trained students will guide their History classes through the exhibition over the coming week.
All students involved have demonstrated maturity, respect, and sensitivity throughout.
