SCHOOL VISION & MISSION
Parents choosing to send their child to St Benet Biscop Catholic Academy are opting specifically for an education within the setting of a Catholic school. We are part of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle and, as such we belong to the strong family of Catholic primary and secondary schools throughout the North-East.
We are proud of our Catholic tradition and take seriously our responsibility to nurture the Faith in our young people and to support them on their spiritual journey through life.
We have the massive responsibility of helping to prepare our students, not just for this life, but also for the life to come.
Our dedicated teachers, proactive staff and passionate chaplain strive to provide an outstanding education, in a Catholic/Christian context. The Gospel values taught to us by Jesus Christ pervade everything we do, and these values enable students to leave our school with a strong academic, moral and spiritual education. At St Benet Biscop we motivate our students to become people of challenge, change and transformation:
To see the world as God created it and not as the prevailing culture of the time dictates; to be unafraid and unashamed to challenge anything that denigrates or belittles another person; to see every person in the image and likeness of God and to tolerate nothing less.
To be agents of change where it is needed; to understand how to bring about change wisely, bravely and peacefully; to not be afraid when the going gets tough.
To be personally transformed see the world from God’s perspective; work towards a vision of a transformed world; be ablaze with the Holy Spirit and burn to create a world of justice and peace for all.
To seek wholeness through faith,
quest and learning to become
what God intends us to be.
