Year 13 Media Studies: Spotting Fake News with BBC Verify

On Friday 14th November, our Y13 Media Studies students spent the day at Sunderland University hosted by BBC Verify, whose mission is to help young people learn how AI is impacting journalism and media. They got the opportunity to hear from a range of professionals from the BBC, as well as director of the Netflix Documentary 'Sunderland Til I Die'.

The highlight of the day was the chance to get into the University's podcast studios, where students hosted and produced their own podcasts.

Overall it was a fascinating day, and our students left feeling excited about the prospect of working in the media!
