None of the group managed to finish 'The Turn of the Screw' by Henry James. It didn't stop us meeting though!

We're feeling positive about next month's choice: John Steinbeck's 'Of Mice and Men'. An incredibly moving novella with a cast of memorable characters, the classic tale of Depression-era California is one we're all looking forward to reading.

We might not agree with the first part of Crooks' statement that "Books ain't no good. A guy needs somebody—to be near him."
