Quest
All students in Key Stage 3 were invited to take part in an NHS Careers Competition. Students chose an NHS career that interested them from the 350 career paths on offer. Students then researched the career's key responsibilities, skills, experience and qualifications via a job description activity held at lunchtimes in an IT suite.
This investigation was then used to create a fun and informative job advertisement to appeal to their peers. Students entered the competition individually or in teams of up to four. Students chose from a variety of professions including psychologist, pilot, radiologist and surgeon. Entries were judged on their creativity and understanding of chosen role.
National winners received Amazon vouchers worth £50, an NHS goody bag and a framed certificate. All students who entered the competition at St. Benet Biscop Catholic Academy received a certificate of participation to commend them on their investigative skills in the world of work.
