Quest
On Thursday 19th March the Year 8 boys' rugby team travelled to Percy Park for the annual County 7s tournament. Superb running in their first game particularly by Riley Cobb who scored two tries meant a victory over Newcastle School for Boys with a 4-3 win. Kings, the eventual winners were strong and our team showed amazing resilience to keep the scoreline respectable.
Captain, Ethan Naruma Tuiloma in particular put in some superb tackles and really led by example in all that he did - his leadership, rugby knowledge and strong running lifted the team throughout the tournament, similarly Connor Bacon's rugby knowledge made a big difference. We ended the tournament with 3 wins (also beating Marden and Blyth Academy) and 3 losses (also losing to St Thomas More and Bede Academy).
Tries were scored throughout the whole team but special mention for strong running to Tommy Howe who scored multiple tries and Vice-Captain Archie Minnock on scoring his first try for the school.
