Our buildings are named after northern saints. Form classes have been asked to learn more about their buildings' saints and create a banner or shield to represent them.

11B are based in St Hilda's block (where English is taught) and have been working hard in form to represent her.

St. Hilda of Whitby is famous for being an influential abbess who founded the double monastery at Whitby Abbey, her pivotal role in the Synod of Whitby in 664 AD, and her reputation for wisdom and leadership that attracted kings and other powerful figures. She is also known for mentoring Caedmon, the first English poet, and for promoting learning and spiritual growth at her abbey.
