Metaphors Matter (especially in Year 10 English lessons)

This month, Year 10 students are looking at metaphors in English lessons. We use metaphors all the time, often without even realising it. Whether we're saying someone has a 'heart of gold' or that we're 'on a rollercoaster of emotions', metaphors help bring ideas to life.

As students explore a range of texts this term, they're discovering how a well-chosen metaphor can add depth, humour, drama or emotion to a piece of writing. They're also having a go at creating their own, with some imaginative results!
