Get into Semi-conductors day at Newcastle University

Thirteen students from Years 10 and 13 visited Newcastle University’s School of Engineering for the Get Into Semiconductors event. They attended lectures from university staff, with our Year 10s even taking a leading role. Students also joined a hands‑on workshop, applying coding techniques linked to electronic devices.

The day built confidence, independence and STEM skills beyond the classroom, while deepening their understanding of the semiconductor industry. The visit strengthened links with industry and raised aspirations, encouraging students to consider future career pathways and continue their quest for knowledge in line with our values of curiosity and ambition.

This was our first time attending the event, building on previous Newcastle University sessions, and we look forward to further opportunities
