Quest
Layla Air, Warren Ayre, Connor Hall and Ben Nesbitt travelled to Silloth Coast line to investigate the effects of coastal management on the coastline. They investigated rock angularity and deposition patterns, the impacts of sea walls and groynes and calculated the effectiveness of rock armour using Hudson's equation. This allowed us to calculate if the boulders used in the rock armour were large enough for the average wave energy for this coastline. Then we made time for some stone skimming, Ben was quite exceptional at this! In the afternoon we then reflected on Psammosere health and factors effecting our sand dunes.
