Rugby Success for Luke Gibson

RISE Up and Shine

Year 10 student Luke Gibson has been selected for the Newcastle Red Bulls Pathway as a tight-head prop, an achievement comparable to county-level rugby. Luke secured his place after more than 400 Under-15 players, nominated by their schools and clubs, attended trials.

This fantastic achievement reflects Luke’s commitment to our core values of excellence, resilience, integrity, respect and self-discipline. His dedication to training and continuous improvement has earned him the opportunity to take part in high-level coaching, strength and conditioning, and position-specific development sessions.

Luke also captains Ashington Rugby Club U15s, demonstrating outstanding leadership and respect for his teammates and coaches.

Everyone at school is incredibly proud of Luke and this well-deserved recognition. We wish him every success as he continues his rugby journey and represents both his club and school with distinction
