On Thursday, September 18th, the Prevention Through Education Team from Northumbria Police visited our school to deliver a session on Hate Crime for our Year 9 students.

The session covered key topics, including what constitutes a hate crime, its impact on individuals and communities, and how to seek support. Students also explored the importance of tolerance, respect, and understanding protected characteristics.

The workshop prompted thoughtful discussions, and students engaged with the material in a mature and respectful way. Staff were impressed by how openly students shared their views and experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

This session helped equip our students with the knowledge to contribute to a more inclusive and respectful society.
