Year 7 and Year 8 Athletics Success

RISE Up and Shine


On the 9th June we took a number of Year 7 and Year 8 to the ENSAA Minors’ Area Athletics competition. Those chosen to represent the school behaved exceptionally well and performed to the best of their ability on the day, they should be very proud of themselves. From this event, a small number of students qualified to represent East Northumberland and competed at the ENSAA Minors Track and Field Championships on Saturday 28th June. Their results from the day are below:


Year 7 Girls

Lucy Heatley finished 2nd in the 200m and 3rd in the 800m

Amelia Gibbon finished 7th in the discus


Year 7 Boys

Reo Wills finished 1st in the shot put and is now County Champion!

Henry Moore finished 10th in the 800m

Ethan Tuiloma finished 4th in the discus and 10th in the shot put

Riley Cobb finished 3rd in the 200m


Year 8 Girls

Tilly Coombs finished 11th in the long jump


Year 8 Boys

Aaron Bacon finished 1st in the javelin and is now County Champion!
