Quest

On the 5th May, the U13 girls team travelled to Barnsley FC to play Outwood Academy in the quarter-final of the National Cup. From the beginning, this was a very challenging game from the girls, with both teams demonstrating some excellent football. We took the lead with an excellent goal from Lucy Heatley in the first half and spirits were high. Outwood Academy quickly countered this and managed to get a goal back, taking the result to 1-1 going into half time.

Going into the 2nd half, the game was pretty tense and equal from both teams. We had several missed chances and applied the pressure throughout. Unfortunately, Outwood Academy managed to find the back of the net, taking a 2-1 victory.

The girls fought tirelessly throughout the game, but it just wasn't their day. To get to the final 8 schools of an initial 216 is an incredible achievement for their first year playing as a team, and we are all really proud of how the girls have conducted themselves throughout the competition.
