Matthew Lewis Gets The Gold

RISE Up and Shine

Matthew Lewis from 8O has been bristling with success in his competitive rowing. Matthew

has seen a series of successive competitions this year and we have been really proud of his achievements outside of school. Matthew has competed in the Scottish Championships rowing in the age group above, junior 14s in X2 (2 man sculling-2 blades per person), X4 (4 man sculling-2 blades per person and x1 (individual sculling). In the X2 they got to the A final and came fourth.

In the X4 they came away with a gold medal (2 from Cambois and 2 from Chester le Street).

In the X1 he got through to the A final where he came second. He was like a rocket from the start, amazing performance, well done Matthew!
